Capturing Everyday Awe

Capturing Everyday Awe Capturing Everyday Awe

I had a website in 2010 - TinCityArt.com, and when life made it impossible to continue in 2012, I let it go. It would be seven years before I painted again... Although much has changed, a lot remains the same.

It was my fascination with dragonflies that lured me back to painting after a seven year hiatus. My first two attempts to express what my inner eye saw were a disappointement, but this is a perfect illustration of what inpires me to paint. I paint from the ordinary beauty around me, often in my own back yard.

Although I sometimes dabble in acrylic paints, I work primarily in oils - which require more time to dry and are much messier and harder to clean up, but oil paint is what I love.
